G-Floor Sport FAQ
Q: How do I clean gymnastics and cheer mats?
A: Our mats are waterproof and durable enough to be vacuumed, so just wipe any liquid off with a dry towel, use a mile detergent or soap solution for more intensive cleaning, and vacuum any chalk or other debris off the carpet.
Q: How do I sanitize gymnastics and cheer mats?
A: For deep cleaning and sanitization, use a steam cleaner with an anti-microbial sanitizer. Be sure to fully dry the cleaned area and ensure residue of the sanitizer is removed from the surface of the mat.
Q: How do I cut gymnastics mats to size for installation?
A: With a straight edge as a guide and knife such as a box cutter, carefully and slowly cut through the carpet and foam to achieve the desired dimensions.
Q: How thick should my gymnastics mat be?
A: For home mats and gyms with spring floors, most gymnastics mats are 1 3/8” thick with two layers of premium XPE foam. For gyms without spring floors, most gymnastics mats are 2” thick with three layers of premium XPE foam.
Q: How big is a gymnastics or cheer mat?
A: A typical cheer floor is 42’ x 54’, or nine full-size, 6’ x 42’ carpet bonded foam floor rolls; gymnastics floors are typically 42’ x 42’, or seven full-size 6’ x 42’ carpet bonded foam floor rolls. Home gym mats range from 3’ x 6’ to 12’ x 12’ with two rolls of 6’ x 12’.
