- How to clean gymnastics mats? Our mats are waterproof and durable enough to be vacuumed, so just wipe any liquid off with a dry towel, use a mile detergent or soap solution for more intensive cleaning, and vacuum any chalk or other debris off the carpet.
- How to cut gymnastics mats? With a straight edge as a guide and knife such as a box cutter, carefully and slowly cut through the carpet and foam to achieve the desired dimensions.
- How thick should a gymnastics mat be? For home mats and gyms with spring floors, most gymnastics mats are 1 3/8” thick with two layers of premium XPE foam. For gyms without spring floors, most gymnastics mats are 2” thick with three layers of premium XPE foam.
- How big is a cheer mat? A typical cheer floor is 42’ x 42’ , or seven full-size 6’ x 42’ floor rolls. Home gym mats range from 3’x6’ to 12’x12’ with two rolls of 6’x12’
- How many mats are on a cheer competition floor? Typically seven, but as many as nine!
- How to sanitize cheer mats? For deep cleaning and sanitization, use a steam cleaner with an anti-microbial sanitizer. Be sure to fully dry the cleaned area and ensure residue of the sanitizer is removed from the surface of the mat.
- What size are competition cheer mats Competition cheer floor rolls are 6’x42’. Seven rolls are typically joined with a hook tape to cover seams and prevent separation.
