Garage & Universal Flooring Installation
Quick Start Guide
- Sweep and clean the floor thoroughly
- Unroll mat starting from the entrance
- Let mat relax for up to 72 hours in cooler temps
- Optional: trim edges for custom fit
- Secure with double-sided tape, seaming tape, or adhesive if needed
Installation Types
- Floating Mat: No adhesive needed. Leave a 1" gap from walls/heavy items
- Adhered Installation: Use acrylic or pressure-sensitive adhesive for full-floor coverage
Common Accessories
- Seam Tape: Joins mats underneath while allowing movement
- Center Trim: Covers seams and prevents tripping
- Edge Trim: Finishes edges with a tapered look
- Threshold Trim: Prevents dirt, bugs, and moisture from entering
Tips
- Leave a 1" gap from walls or poles
- Use adhesive if heavy items will sit on the mat
- Use tape only on the leading edge—not the entire perimeter
- Trim around drains or obstacles as needed
Trailer Flooring Installation
Tools Required
- Sander, broom
- Utility knife, trim sealer
- Adhesive + nap roller/trowel
- 100 lb. roller
Step-by-Step
- Prep wood subfloor: clean, dry, sand seams smooth
- Acclimate material 12-24 hours in temp-controlled area
- Unroll, trim to fit layout
- Lift half the mat and apply adhesive
- Roll flooring back carefully, then use weighted roller
- Repeat for other half
- Finish with trim and seam sealer
Outdoor & Marine Flooring Installation
Storage & Prep
- Acclimate materials and adhesive on-site for 24 hours
- Store in 60-85°F space, dry and flat on original core
Installation Surfaces
- Marine Grade Plywood: Use G-Floor® Marine Adhesive, apply with trowel or roller
- Composite Decks: Ensure smooth substrate, apply marine adhesive, roll flat
- Exterior Wood/Concrete: Prep subfloor, use proper adhesive, seal seams, finish edges
Pro Tips
- Always use marine-grade adhesives
- Staple or trim all edges to prevent curling or water ingress
- Use heat or fans to resolve blushing from trapped moisture
- Seal seams with cold weld or heat weld methods
